Faculty Compensation

The compensation guidelines provided here are intended to address typical situations where some distance education courses may receive financial support from external grants or sponsored projects for course development and/or delivery. In these exceptional cases, some flexibility may be given for approval of alternative compensation by the Vice Chancellor.

Compensation for Course Delivery/Instruction/Teaching

It is anticipated that most of the GCTU distance education courses will be taught as part-time course assignment. However, circumstances may occur where it will be necessary to have a distance education course taught on an overload basis. When that is the case, the faculty will be compensated for teaching a course at the existing compensation rate if taught on an overload basis.

Compensation for Adjunct Faculty

Per module pay for Faculty/Facilitators/Adjunct who teach distance education modules will be paid at a rate as determined by the ICDE Board and approved by the University Management. Exceptions to the above compensation rates must be approved by the Vice Chancellor

Compensation for Department Heads and Deans of Faculties

Deans of faculties and Department heads whose programmes are being run shall be compensated as determined by the ICDE Board at the end of each semester. Faculty/Facilitator/Adjunct can teach not more than two distance education modules per semester except under rare circumstances such as an assigned Faculty/Facilitator/Adjunct being indisposed or unavailability of a Faculty/Facilitator/Adjunct in that field. In such circumstances additional compensation shall be paid. Exceptions must be approved by the Director of ICDE
